Up until cell phones became the popular convenience they are most of us relied on home or business phones that were hardwired to the wall. One of the great conveniences of landline phones is the Yellow Pages or phone book directory. In fact these phone books now exist in cyberspace making it easier then ever to look up phone numbers on your computer. That is unless you are trying to look up cell phone numbers, there are no easy to use reverse cellular phone directories.

Fortunately that trend has changed over the last few years with paid cell phone directory websites beginning to fill the gap between the landline directories and the lack of ways to look for and find cell phone names and numbers.

There are several reasons you may want to join one of these low cost sites but the most common are knowing someone's name but not their number or receiving annoying and harassing calls from a phone number that you don't recognize.

In the first case unless you use a cell phone directory you are out of luck when it comes to finding their phone number. Unless of course you can hunt them down in person and ask what their cell phone number is.

In the second case you can always call the number back and ask who it that keeps calling you. That may or may not get you the results you are looking for if they don't feel like giving up that information. Not only that but they will generally know who is calling them because of their caller-id unless you call from an anonymous public phone.

The nominal fee that these national directories charge can be well worth the cost. Not only will you have an active cellular phone number directory always at your fingertips but in many cases these services will give you access to other records that include court and criminal records, marriage and divorce information, family records, bankruptcy filings, and other public domain records.

The national reverse cellular phone directories are the phone books of the cell phone age. While they aren't free like the phone books of old they do offer great service and a whole wealth of information that is hard to find anywhere else.
