Acne Cream
There are many different acne solutions that come in many different forms. However, acne creams are a well known and commonly used treatment for acne that are very effective and should be considered when one is determining the type of acne solution for their skin.
Many acne creams are effective in the process of elimating acne, so which kind should be chosen? First off, if the case of acne is mild to moderate, then a cream is most likely the way to go. If it is severe, the acne cream may not work so well to treat acne. Some skin types are also very susceptible to the healing properties of creams. This is important to keep in mind when choosing a cream.
Active ingredients in creams also may make a difference in the type that is chosen to combat acne. The most common active ingredient found in acne creams is benzoyl peroxide. The amount in the cream should be small for mild to moderate acne, because too much of this can dry out the skin and lead to other complications later on. Most creams in stores are about 2 or 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. For more severe acne, a higher concentration, such as a 10% solution may be recommended by a dermatologist. Alcohol is another common ingredient. Much like benzoyl peroxide, you will find this in your acne creams in very minute amounts because using it too much in the cream would dry out the skin. It is important to know that you should always try acne treatments on a small portion of skin because their is a chance that your skin may be allergic to the chemicals within the acne cream.
Another common type of chemical compound found inside of some acne medications is Adapalene and Tretinoine. These chemicals need to be monitored very carefully when used however because they can cause adverse reactions and serious allergic reactions. This potent acne treatment is not recommended unless first discussed with a dermatologists because of the risks of using this cream solution.
Whatever type of cream you choice, watch the active ingredients very carefully to be sure that they work well with you skin. Your skin should not be dried out as creams are made to help heal and moisturize the skin. Acne creams generally do work fine, as the active ingredients in them are found in other types of acne medications as well. These creams are usually great and leave you will beautiful, acne free skin.
